Dwarf Hamsters Small and Easy to Lose.

Well as many of my followers know my wife I purchased a dwarf Hamster awhile back.  Well one time putting him in his roll around hamster ball while we changed his cage materials became a very new experience for the both of us.  Well we hadn't heard the little rascal rolling around for a little while so my wife went looking thankfully are place is not huge.  She found the ball but no Chico thats his name.  She noticed him though he was sitting in the corner,  well of course she called me to where she was standing and let me know what was going on.  Then the fun started these hamsters are not your average chubby & large teddy bear hamsters they are very small and are like furry rockets and generally do not like to be handled.  Man we thought a few times we were going to lose him.  The big pain in the butt was he ran under our sauna luckily it is portable to some degree and I had a broom handle near by after what seemed a lifetime coaxing him out from under the sauna he ran under a roll of carpet mat that had moved and I was able to box him in and catch him.  The loose hamster ordeal was over, and I taped the ball around the middle so it could not break open next time.  All I can say is if you have one of these and you have a hamster ball consider taping the ball in the middle connection point because they do break open even falling down a small step and trust me you do not want to try and catch one of these hamsters these little suckers are like rodent Carl Lewis's on steroids serious fast.

Hope this made you laugh I know after we caught the little guy we had a good laugh.

God Bless and Happy Easter.

Easter Weekend: Spend it with the ones you Love.

So many new followers of the raw food lifestyle will be put to the test this holiday weekend.  What I mean by this is most of us get together with other family members and of course you have some kind of roast beast be it Ham, Turkey, Beef, Chicken, or something fancy like goose or duck.  Well one thing I could suggest is if your going over to a families home for dinner do not go hungry grunge on some fruits and veggies prior to the family gathering therefore reducing the temptation to stray to the cooked foods.
Another option of course is too bring some uncooked raw items too the dinner so you have something you know you can eat,  as well you can have family members try some of the delicious foods you can have RAW.

Family gatherings do not have to be rough or difficult if you prepare yourself.  If your family knows that you are living this way now they will understand when you do not partake in the food that is being offered.  Just do not be all judgemental or a jerk and ruin the holiday feast for the rest of your family they have the choice to eat whatever they want.  Just because you may be living raw now or have taken animal products and most processed crap out of your life doesn't mean you have to turn into an idiot.  Enjoy your family for who they are not what they consume spread the love this weekend while spending time with your family and friends.

God Bless and Peace Be with You.

P.S. I would also suggest maybe making some of your favorite tea in a thermos, or maybe make a couple of tea bags ahead if you buy loose tea,  or simply just bring a couple bags of your favorite stuff to the gathering.  We all know most families also consume alcohol at social gatherings or just in general which is not a part of this lifestyle.  This will give you something to sip on and also satisfy your tastebuds maybe something herbal and fruity, or a good green tea.

You could also bring a green smoothie to the event for your meal quick easy simple.

So too all you newbies and trust me I'm in that boat myself have yourself an awesome long weekend and try to stay on the Raw Wagon.

Bok Choy: Raw Food Salad Recipe.

Well as most of us raw foodists know trying new items or even old ones in a new way is always fun and sometimes a gamble.  I for one love doing this and found a new love this past weekend, being a little bored of the traditional salad fixings like romaine, spinach and so forth.   I thought I would try something new well raw that is, I bought a huge head of bok choy and some mangoes and some grapefruit and brought it home.  I of course washed the bok choy and prepped the rest of the ingredients for mixing.  Adding some tomatoes and cucumber I had at home already and then made a delicious dressing out of a handful of spinach half of the mango other half in salad and some fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in the blender and a a few turns of the pepper mill and sea salt for taste also a sprinkle of cayenne for some extra heat (optional).

I never thought it would have tasted so good but Wow what a delicious surprise it was of course not my last bok choy salad as I had the same tonight with a some diced pineapple, spinach leaves and some more tomato and cucumber this time for dressing a simple squeezed orange did the trick with some cayenne and sea salt another
awesome salad.

So the next time your thinking of trying a new vegetable RAW consider bok choy and rock it.

God Bless and Best Wishes.
